Benefits

Physical Health

Pregnancies that include a Doula in the birthing team have fewer C-sections, show less use of epidurals and, on average, less time spent in painful laboring.

Emotional Health

Your mental heath relies heavily on stress being at a tolerable level. During pregnancy, you have a lot on your plate already. A Doula can help sift through all of the conflicting pregnancy advice, take an active role in your birth plan, and help you prepare your home and mind to bring an infant into your life.

Birthing Process

A Doula has the ability to provide comfort with non-medicinal methods such as techniques for breathing and relaxation, massaging, and alternate laboring positions. Your Doula can also be your advocate, encouraging you fulfill any particular desires you may have for your pregnancy and birthing process.
